The Pierce County Court Calendar
Pierce LINX publishes Superior calendar groups for civil matters by judge or attorney, family-law commissioners, probate and guardianship, protection orders, criminal anticipated trials, readiness, and in-custody arraignments. The statewide Washington Courts tool adds Find My Court Date for municipal, district, and superior settings. City courts may publish their own daily or lobby calendars.
LINX says its calendars regenerate about every two hours, but settings can change without notice. Treat the calendar as a current lead, then confirm it against the docket and assigned court. Calendar names and entries also do not prove that a person is associated with a case.
Pierce LINX Calendar Views
The official LINX Calendars screen groups schedules by case and calendar type rather than presenting one countywide list.

The category split matters because a readiness calendar, commissioner calendar, and anticipated trial calendar describe different court work.
How to Find Your Court Date
Use the cause number in LINX when available. Washington Courts Find My Court Date instead asks for the court, last name exactly as printed on the papers, and first-name initial, and may require CAPTCHA. Search the court level shown on the notice. A city matter may not be on the Pierce Superior calendar.
- Open LINX Calendars or Washington Courts Find My Court Date.
- Select the exact court and use the cause number or name as printed.
- Open the docket and compare its next event with the calendar entry.
- Confirm date, time, room, hearing type, and appearance mode with the clerk or counsel.
- If online tools fail, call the clerk, visit the counter, or check the courthouse’s current posted calendar.
Pierce Calendar Refresh Limits
A two-hour regeneration cycle is not real-time notice. A late continuance, reassignment, cancellation, or emergency order may reach the courtroom before it reaches a public page. New case data also may take up to 24 hours after filing even though the usual estimate is shorter.
Quick answer: If the date conflicts with a filed notice, contact the assigned Pierce County court or department before appearing. Never choose between conflicting dates by age alone.
Keep the clerk’s confirmation or current notice with the case papers. Counsel remains an important confirmation channel for a represented party.
Reading a Court Setting
Read each field together. The date and time identify the session, while the department, judge, or commissioner identifies the assignment. The courtroom may be a physical room or a public remote link. The setting type states the work planned, such as arraignment, readiness, motion, protection order, probate, or trial.
| Date | The scheduled day, subject to later court action. |
|---|---|
| Time | The session start, which may cover a group calendar. |
| Courtroom | The physical room or authorized remote appearance route. |
| Judge | The assigned judicial officer or department. |
| Setting type | The event, such as arraignment, motion, readiness, or trial. |
Pierce Setting Types in Plain Terms
A calendar label tells what the court plans to address. It does not promise a final outcome that day. An anticipated trial date is planning information. Readiness checks whether a criminal case is prepared to proceed. An arraignment handles the initial appearance and plea. A commissioner calendar may address family, probate, guardianship, or protection matters.
- Readiness
- A check on whether the case can proceed as set.
- Anticipated trial
- A projected trial setting that still requires confirmation.
- In-custody arraignment
- An initial criminal setting for a person held in custody.
- Commissioner calendar
- A session assigned to a court commissioner for specified matters.
The docket result or order explains what occurred after the session.
Resets, Continuances, and Cancellations
A continuance moves court work to a later time. A reset is the new setting. A cancellation removes a planned session, though it may not end the case. The docket can show a continuance event followed by a new hearing row. Read both entries and any linked order.
Confirm a changed Pierce County setting through the assigned clerk by phone or counter, counsel, and the latest docket. Daily printed or lobby calendars can help after arrival, but they should not replace advance confirmation. The court, not a portal timestamp, controls the setting.
Pierce Remote Hearing Rules Vary
Pierce County Superior Court does not use one deadline for every remote appearance request. Published department examples range from about three days to seven days, and some use business days. Family-law and commissioner hearings may allow in-person or Zoom appearances. Mental-health proceedings are identified as Zoom-only.
| Question | Where to verify |
|---|---|
| Can I appear remotely? | Assigned department instructions |
| When is a request due? | Current department deadline |
| Did the courtroom link change? | Current court notice or clerk |
Tacoma and Lakewood publish separate municipal remote or observation arrangements. Pierce County’s live-feed page says District Court is not currently streaming, though open proceedings may be observed in person.
Pierce District Calendar Access
Pierce County District Court records and calendars are separate from Superior and Juvenile Court files. Call District Court at (253) 798-7487 or use its Room 239 counter when LINX and the statewide date tool do not resolve a setting. The public page lists weekday hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. District staff cannot provide a Superior or Juvenile calendar entry, so the court name on a notice matters before a trip or call.
The 2026 District LINX integration is still gradual. Search and e-filing access may not match the functions available to subscribed users. The soft launch began with selected no-fee filings, limited document choices, free self-represented accounts, attorney subscription access, and email confirmation or rejection. Traditional filing continues. A missing online item should lead to court confirmation, not an assumption that the hearing disappeared. Ask whether a setting is on the District calendar, whether it was reset, and whether appearance is in person. That response is more useful than treating a portal delay as a cancellation.
Pierce Municipal Calendar Routes
Municipal settings follow the city court that filed the case. Tacoma has selected virtual hearings for infraction, photo, parking, and criminal matters on published days, subject to court approval. Lakewood serves Steilacoom and DuPont and says most hearings are in person, though its Monday traffic calendar may be in person or by Zoom. Puyallup serves Milton and uses local lobby calendars as a court aid. Bonney Lake and Sumner share a court that also serves other named communities.
Use the Washington court directory when city routing is uncertain. Court contracts can send a city case to a building outside the city named on the citation. A city calendar is also separate from the Superior and District lists, even when courts share the County-City Building. Confirm the issuing city, local case number, current hearing mode, and court contact together. Older online meeting details should not override a new notice or direct instruction from the municipal court.
Pierce Calendar Entry Privacy
A calendar may display cause number, party-role or name fields, hearing type, counsel, agency, custody indicator, and result or continuance notes. Copy only what is needed to confirm the setting. A name on a list does not prove identity or association with the case.
Confidential and juvenile matters may be omitted. Public access to an open hearing does not authorize recording it. Tacoma states that recording requires permission, and a remote link can carry its own court rules.
Pierce Courtroom Links Can Move
A remote link belongs to the assigned department and hearing, not merely to the case. Reassignment, a continuance, or a switch to in-person appearance can make an older link wrong. Open the current department instructions and compare them with the latest notice.
If the mode is unclear, call before the hearing. Save the source and time of the confirmation. A public livestream, when offered, may be observation only and is not the same as an authorized party appearance.
What To Do If You Miss a Setting
Contact the court shown on the case papers at once. Ask whether the docket records a failure to appear, warrant, new date, or other court action. A represented party should also contact counsel. Do not assume that finding a later online date cures the missed setting.
Missed a setting? The court may enter a failure to appear, issue a warrant, or take other case-specific action.
Call the responsible clerk and counsel promptly to learn the current status and proper next step.
Legal advice about a missed Pierce County setting should come from a licensed attorney.
