Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained to prepare a response. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive basic technical details when a page loads:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help measure traffic, popular pages, and where visits end. Analytics providers combine that activity into reports. A browser can block cookies, although some functions may then behave differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Pierce County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case information. It explains how to reach Pierce County Superior Court, the Pierce County Clerk, other local courts, and Washington Courts. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and disclosure practices apply to information submitted there, and we cannot control those practices. Read the provider’s policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Pierce County Clerk, trial courts, Washington Courts, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. After leaving this website, the destination’s privacy rules apply. Review them before sharing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs on their systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used for collected data. No internet service can guarantee perfect protection, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such information is identified, a deletion request may be made.
Your Data Rights
Rights may differ based on where you live and the law that applies. Washington General Rules 31 and 31.1 govern access to court case and judicial administrative records, not data held by this private website. Subject to applicable privacy and consumer-protection law, you may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
